This piece was great fun to work on. It is very rare that I get the chance to use the lost wax casting method.
As you can see from the pictures, the head of this Mjolnir pendant was carved from a small block of jeweller’s wax. It was then sent to a foundry that specialises in casting precious metals.
The sterling silver head was then returned to me, cleaned up and coloured before being mounted on an oak shaft. The head is approximately 25mm across and 12mm square. The shaft is approximately 50mm long.
